Project Scope
I developed the logo and continued to evolve the visual branding elements for Petit Tembo. "Petit" (pronounced /P(Ə)TI/, /IT/) is French for small/tiny, while "Tembo" (pronounced /TEM-BO, TE-MBO/) is Swahili for elephants. Petit Tembo is a Vancouver-based boutique curating sustainable products for babies and children.
Contribution
I contributed to the Petit Tembo project by creating a handwritten logo and social media animations, designing T-shirts, coloring books, and stickers, and developing branding guidelines and banners. These elements helped spread positivity and reinforced brand consistency across platforms.
Design Rationale
The challenge was to capture the essence of the elephant without depicting it literally. The goal was to evoke the feel of an elephant, symbolizing its strength and tenderness, without direct visual representation. Additionally, they sought a unique script font for the logotype to evoke a more human, approachable feel.
